2008 held many changes for us. We were struck by a tornado on February 17, even though the house was damaged all the birds, dogs and
cats survived just fine. I started working a regular job, which put us all into a very different schedule.

My African Greys surprised me with a single chick in March of 08. She was so fat when I pulled her I
thought her little toes were deformed. They do a terrific job. |
She was a loving sweet baby and grew into a beautiful, chattering, talking lady. She is still available for sale, talks up a storm, isn't shy about talking
and loves to imitate Coco the Grey. I work at a Retirement Center and I actually take the birds to work. This sweetheart loves to go
and spend the day entertaining everyone with her silly antics and her crazy chatter. No one enjoys eating a grape more than she does
and she has a great time socializing with every one. |

Here she is with her best friend, and brother from an earlier hatch. She is on the right. Both of these birds are talking, well socialized and very friendly and are available for sale.
This picture was made in March 2009. He's a September 2007 hatch.

| With my work schedule, I knew I could not feed day one babies, so Pebbles and Comet were not given a box
but Pebbles was a determined Mama. She dropped two eggs off the perch around the start of September. Determined to raise a chick, Pebbles went to the floor where
her box had been left, got in it and laid an egg. I was so disappointed. I work 4 ten hour days with two hours of commuting. I would
not be able to pull her chick. I never thought she would sit in the box on the floor but she was diligent. Comet watched over her
and fed and cared for her like he always does. On the first Saturday in October, I noticed that Comet had gone through a tremendous amount
of water. Its a sure sign of feeding a new baby. Sure enough, there was a bit of yellow fluff in the box. My heart sank. They have
never fed a baby successfully. This time they were on their own. I watched and waited holding my breath every day. To my delight, they
finally figured the entire process out. They fed and cared for their baby like champions. He was left in the box until he was 21 days old.
I entered the aviary to find Pebbles out of the box and I "stole" her baby without any drama or fuss. I just grabbed him and eased back
out of their flight. He was a gorgeous fat healthy contented chick.

| As with all babies, they grow and change quickly. The pictures above are only a week after being pulled. The pictures below are two weeks
after being pulled, which would have the chick at 41 days in the picture on the left and the most recent picture was made in March 2009.

If you're interested in purchasing any of these babies, please click here to request more information. Its always my hope that they go into homes that are committed to living with them long term. The decision to purchase one of these large destructive, loud rascals should never be made lightly.
But they do fill your life with joy and laughter!! |
